At the launch of Hyundai's dealership in Srinagar, B K Lee, regional director north India disclosed the company's plans to launch the i20 hatchback by December 2008. The i20 will fit the price segment between i10 and the Getz. It is quite interesting to see that companies are able to identify mini-segments and develop products to cater to those specific customer needs. The i10 is one such example. Having been launched between the Santro and the Getz the i10 now sells more than the lower priced Santro! Hyundai is also developing a $3500 car to compete in the ultra low cost car market which is set to heat up with the launch of the Nano this winter.
