Hyundai Motor Corp, Korea has declared it's plans of coming out with a range of hybrid vehicles in the near future. Sensing a growing demand for hybrids due to skyrocketing fuel prices, Hyundai has announced that it will start selling hybrid models in Korea from 2009 and in international markets including India by 2010. In India the Hyundai Verna, Sonata and the 'to be launched' Avante sedan are the likely candidates for hybridisation. Hyundai would need to localise the manufacturing of th hybrid components otherwise it's range would be priced stratospherically like the just launched Civic Hybrid which is priced at double of what the regular petrol variant costs.
